Weldon Ray Agnew

ROCK- Weldon Ray Agnew, 62, of Rock now rests in the arms of Jesus, his Lord and Savior. He often spoke of the Rainbow Bridge and looked forward to seeing his loving pet “Little Bit” again. He passed peacefully September 11, 2023 at home with his soulmate and love of his life Shari with whom he shared 42 years of love and wonderful memories. Born October 25, 1960, he was the son of Richard Junior Agnew and the late Colena Billings Agnew. He was a devoted and caring husband and friend. He always had joy in his heart. He was witty and always made people laugh. He was a friend to everyone he met. People were drawn to him. He previously worked for Parson & Associates for 23 years. He served in the US Army from 1980-1983 being stationed at Fort Benning, GA. He attended the Hiawatha Gospel Mission Church and he loved his church family. He enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing and riding ATVs with his brother. God blessed him with many skills and talents. Weldon was preceded in death by his mother, Colena Oma Billings Agnew. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Shari Agnew; beloved pets, Zackious, Zoe, Zippy, and Shaggy; his dad, Richard Junior Agnew of Princeton; beloved brothers and best friends, Ricky Dean Agnew of Matoaka and Ricky Billings of Rock; brothers, Dicky Agnew of Holly Ridge, NC, Richard (Bobby) Agnew and wife Christine of Titusville, Fl; sister, Gloy Heath of Clinton, NC; sisters-in-law, Debbie Johnson and husband Danny of Rock, Julie Long and husband Brian of Rock, and Tammy Tacket and husband Mark of KY; and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express many thanks to Ryland Musick, Joe Ray, James Sampson, Ricky Billings, Brian Simpkins, Mark White, Angela Roske, Danette Giles, Carla Bulson, Sally Rumburg, and many others from the Department of Highways District 10 who were so prayerful and attentive during the last few months. The love and support of his past co-workers, Jeff Justice and Shawn Harris, is greatly appreciated. They also wish much love and gratitude to everyone who sent prayers, texts, messages, cards and other gifts of kindness. They also wish to thank TJ Necessary and Janet Tedder and the staff at Hospice Compassus for their support. A memorial service will be held Friday, September 15, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Kelly Lyle, officiating.
