Pauline Buckner

PRINCETON– Virginia Pauline Buckner, 85, of Princeton died Friday, May 11, 2012. Born December 8, 1926 at Swords Creek, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Ruey Cordell and Rose Newberry Cordell. She was a homemaker and a member of Fairview Christian Community Church in Princeton where her husband served as pastor for several years. She had a servant's heart and loved taking care of her family. She was truly a virtuous woman as recorded in Proverbs chapter 31. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Noah Estil Buckner in 1979; one son, Jerry Buckner; one infant daughter, Judy Buckner; five brothers, Billy Cordell, Jimmy Cordell, Ralph Cordell, infant twins Clyde and Claude Cordell and one infant sister, Opal Cordell. Survivors include five sons, Benny Buckner and his wife Marietta, Harold Buckner and his wife Bonnie, Roger Buckner, Eddie Buckner and his wife Jeanne and Danny Buckner and his wife Karen all of Princeton; four daughters, Wilma Grubb and her husband Earl, Brenda Davis and her husband Mike and Melissa Pentasuglia and her husband Tim all of Princeton and Joyce Hassen and her husband Sam of Chester, VA; 19 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 3 great -great grandchildren; three sisters, Ruby Hanks of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Shirley Carpenter and her husband Roger of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Alice Petitt and her husband Bob of Middletown, Delaware and three living brothers, Bobby Cordell and his wife Wanda of Middletown, Delaware, Joe Cordell and his wife Dorothy of Summerfield, Florida and Jack Cordell and his wife Alma Jo of Princeton. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 13, 2012 at Fairview Christian Community Church in Princeton with Rev. Larry Dyer officiating. Friends may visit at the church from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, May 13. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 14 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Serving as pallbearers will be David Hassen, Harold Lee Buckner, Jr., Eric Buckner, Barry Buckner, Josh Buckner, Jonathan Buckner, Jeffrey Buckner and Joseph Ball.
