Delores Leslie

WEYANOKE – Delores Ann Leslie, 78, of Weyanoke, was called to Heaven on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born July 21, 1933 at Bluefield, she was the daughter of the late Corbet Shuck and Daisy Thornton Shuck Jenkins. Mrs. Leslie was a homemaker and a member of the Weyanoke Church of God. Her strong will to live, her unwavering faith in God and the love and prayers of family, friends and supporters carried her through many more days of suffering. She is now singing with the angels in Heaven as she so loved to do in church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her precious husband of 50 years, Frederick “Fred” Leslie, Sr. in 2000; and an infant brother. Survivors include five daughters, Gail Heaton and her husband James of Rock, Teresa Ann Leslie Sangid and her husband Jim of Sandlick, Sharon McMillion and her husband Michael of Matoaka, Freda Greer and her husband James of Harpers Ferry and Daisy Leslie Dwyer of Harpers Ferry; one son, Frederick I. Leslie, Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Harpers Ferry; one brother, George D. Shuck and his wife Billie of Deland, FL; one sister, Kathleen Farley of South Boston, VA; four grandchildren, Cecelia “Sissy” Jessee and her husband Robert of Goldsboro, NC, Angela “Angie” Gillespie and her husband Ben of Kegley, Kevin McMillion and his wife Melinda of Matoaka and Frederick Leslie, III and his wife Tiffany of Harpers Ferry; four great-grandchildren, Steven Jessee, Todd Jessee, Samantha McMillion and Savannah Gillespie; and her very dear extended family, Alda and Lucy Laxton. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Brian Farley and Pastor Ron Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Serving as pallbearers will be Jim Sangid, James Greer, Kevin McMillion, Ben Gillespie, Freddie Leslie, Steven Jessee and Todd Jessee. Flower girls will be Samantha McMillion and Savannah Gillespie.
