Delma Conner

PRINCETON – Delma Jean Conner, 86, of Princeton, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2025. Born October 8, 1938, in Ronceverte, she was the daughter of the late Lacy Raymond Honaker and Nellie Ganoe Hutchinson. Delma attended Mt. Jackson Baptist Church where she ran the nursery for many years and was very active with the children’s and ladies’ ministry. She retired from Princeton Community Hospital in 2001. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, playing cards, cooking, baking, and watching westerns. Delma especially enjoyed spending time with her family who will miss her tremendously. She was a faith-filled woman who was an exceptional mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence E. Conner; daughter, Debbie Horeluk; grandson, Jamey Conner, three brothers, Leroy Honaker, Andrew Honaker, and Lacy “Red” Honaker; and three sisters, Margaret Leech, Lucille Lanahan, and Betty Files. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Lawrence Conner, Jr, and wife Patsy of Princeton, Mary Katherine Gates and husband Keith of Easley, SC, Glenna Woodring and husband Gary of Princeton, Janet Conner of Princeton, and Rebecca Chambliss and husband Brice of Pomona Park, FL; grandchildren, Lori Ann Conner, Warren Smith II and wife Chrystal, Misty Hill and husband David, Greg Conner II and wife Ellen, Heather Conner and companion Thomas, Brandi Stone and husband Brandt, Benjamin Woodring and wife Kim, Noland Woodring and wife Carla, Jonathan Sigmon and wife Staci, Matthew Sigmon and wife Ashley, Kevin Sigmon and wife Meranda, Cassidy Elam and husband Cody; many great-grandchildren, sister, Rebecca Dillon; many nieces and nephews; and special caretaker, Dannika Webb. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 29, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. at Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Brad Starcher, officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Princeton. Her grandsons will service as pallbearers. Arrangements by Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
