CAMP CREEK - A man of faith, kind, gentle, humble, compassionate, and loving to all, met his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 9, 2025 – free from pain! Thomas David Stevens Jr, Dave, Dad, Papa, started his beautiful journey of life in Pineville, WV, born to his Godly and devoted parents Tom and Joyce (deceased February 2025) Stevens. Dave grew up with his beloved sister Ginny (husband Rick, daughter Letisha) loved riding his bike, playing baseball, basketball, and football while making friends that lasted a lifetime at Pineville High School. He learned the value of hard work through helping his dad at his auto parts store, mowing lawns, and working for the gas company. While pursuing his Bachelor of Social Work degree, he met and later married his first love, Sara Bailey Stevens (deceased August 2013). Together, they had a beautiful life of love and laughter while raising their six precious children Bethany (husband Josh), Caleb, Luke (wife Lauren), Jesse (wife Rhian), Hannah (husband Ramon), and Libby (husband Kyle). Dave worked diligently in state child protective services, state probation, and finally as a deputy chief federal probation officer. He retired early from a successful career to care for his soulmate Sara and deliver her into the arms of Jesus. He grieved that loss many years until God healed his heart when He brought him his second love, Tammy Lilly, who had also lost her spouse. God graciously, lovingly, and perfectly blended two hurting families when He added two more siblings Kelley (Rob) and Kaleb (wife Carrie). Tammy was Dave’s second soulmate for eight beautiful years. Together they traveled, welcomed many grandchildren, and served Jesus and others selflessly. Dave loved the Lord first and then he fiercely loved his family. He treasured his 16 grandchildren Jackson, Bailey, Lincoln, Hudson, Boston, Colton, Roman, Judah, Piper, Silas, Calan, Emerson, Ariyah, Gianna, Cadrian, and baby Sara to be born February 2026. Dave lived his life for Jesus. He fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7 Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2025 at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with his son, Luke Stevens, officiating. Interment will follow at the Pisgah Cemetery in Princeton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bowers Hospice House at www.hospiceofsouthernwv.org. The family will receive friends Friday, October 17, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until service hour at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
