Charles Remines

PRINCETON – "Well done thou good and faithful servant." Charles "Charlie" Remines, 64, of Princeton, entered through the gates of Heaven and into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at UVA Hospital in Charlottesville, VA. He put up a brave fight to stay with us, but God had a higher purpose for him. Born January 13, 1949 at Bluefield, he was the son of the late Oscar "Doc" Remines, Sr. and Mildred Proffitt Remines. He loved the Lord and was a member of Princeton Church of God where he served on the Pastor's Council. He was instrumental in the building of the Princeton Church of God in 2004. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in Vietnam. He was a self-employed plumber and HVAC and electrical contractor until 1997. He attended the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 628 meetings in Princeton. He enjoyed hunting, bowling and gardening. He loved spending time with his family and adored his wife, Linda. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 29 years, Linda Bowyer Remines; two daughters, Fran East and her husband Shannon and Vickie Ruble and her husband Robbie; grandchildren, Chad Femmino and his fiancé Alisha Bell, Jaden East, Tiffany Paitsel and her husband Wes, Heather Lawrence, Rilee Ruble, Michael Ruble, Shannon Ruble and his fiancé Emily Tolbert and Randy Ruble; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Oscar J. Remines and his wife Judy; and two nephews, Dr. Michael Remines and his wife Heather and Roger Goforth and his wife Stacy. Funeral services will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at the Princeton Church of God with Dr. Ray Hurt and Pastor Fred Farley officiating. Entombment and cryptside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Princeton. Friends attending the service are asked to meet at the mausoleum. Military honors will be conducted by the WV National Guard Honor Guard and the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 4, 2013 from 4:00-6:30 p.m. at the Princeton Church of God. Arrangements by Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
