Aretta Dishner

ROCK - Aretta Mae Dishner, 78, of Wright Mountain Road in Rock went to be with her Lord and sing with the angels on Monday, February 15, 2016 at her residence. Born November 15, 1937 at Widemouth she was the daughter of the late Charles Henry Pennington, Sr. and Sylvia Virginia Davis Pennington. Aretta was proud to have shared the stage with Kitty Wells, Jean Shepard and Wanda Jackson in her younger years. She recorded her own single 15 years ago and received awards for her poems. Aretta was a dedicated worker for her Lord and devoted her life as a witness for Him through prayer lines, songs, poem writing, singing and playing music and sharing the Word. She was an active member of Mt. Olivet Methodist Church and Mercer County Trappers Association while physically able. She loved all children and volunteered with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for many years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Jacob Dean Dishner; her brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Priscilla Pennington. Left to cherish the memories are her husband of forty seven years, Raymond (RD) Dishner; daughter, Loressa Bouldin and husband Bill; grandchildren, Autumn and Hunter Bouldin all of Rock; adopted family, Mike, Karen and Kevin Dehart; nieces, nephews and their children she thought of as her own, Greg Pennington, Charlotte Reynolds and husband Jeff and their sons, Josh, Jared and Jacob, Brian Pennington and wife Sabrina and boys, Shannon Pennington, Ada Howerton and husband Greg and boys, Nannette Hatfield and husband Vent, Jason and Kim Howerton and her friends at Amedisys Hospice, our special angels, Sherry and Stacy. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel with Pastor C. T. Lilly officiating. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, February 19 at Wesley Chapel Cemetery on Wright Mountain with Blaine Cecil officiating. Friends attending are asked to meet at the cemetery.
