Shelby Vaught

August 28, 1954 - March 19, 2022

PRINCETON - Shelby Jean Vaught, 67, of Unity Road, Princeton, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 19, 2022. Born August 28, 1954 in Princeton, she was the daughter of the late Robert F. June Pennington and Margaret Juanita Houston Pennington. Shelby attended Athens High School and made many lifelong friendships. She was an avid collector of Fiestaware and Fenton. She enjoyed the company of her two dogs, Karen and Kody, since becoming ill. Shelby was a loving, devoted wife and mother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Ann Pennington and Douglas Pennington. Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Delmas Vaught; children, Richard England of Narrows, Jennifer England and companion John of Princeton, Casey Vaught and fiancé Barry of Princeton, Kathy Chiquita Wiley and husband Michael of Union, and Tamara Cole and husband Jeff of Bluefield; siblings, Brenda Pennington and partner Jeff of Roanoke, Sandy McGuire of Princeton, Metty Cowan and husband Bob of Oakvale, Rosy Bailey of Athens, Glen "Bo" Pennington of Princeton, Roger Pennington of Athens, and Dennis Pennington of Calhoun, GA; grandchildren, Brandais Yarid and husband Andrew, Michael Wiley Jr. and wife Emily, Bonnie Cochran and husband Brandon, and Abigail Vaught; great grandchildren, Penelope, Chiquita Jane, Vesta Lee, Josephine, Amelia, and Lillyanne; special niece, Shannon May and best friend Angelgale Messer-Reaves. Shelby had many friends and family members she loved dearly. There will be no services at the funeral home. Arrangements by Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
