Rosa Haga

PRINCETON – Rosa Woodring Haga, 82, of Princeton, died Monday, October 12, 2015. Born January 11, 1933 at Lowe, WV, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Benjamin Alfred Woodring and Mary Lou White Woodring. Rosa was an avid quilter and reader who loved the Lord, her husband and family and her church. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Princeton where she was active, as she had been in congregations in Galax, Bedford and Roanoke, Virginia. Rosa was both clever and kind, and she enjoyed gardening and travel. Through instruction and by example, she encouraged her children and others to seek knowledge, to be compassionate and to do good. She was thankful for the kindness of the GlenWood Park Retirement Village staff in her final years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Stella Hickman; and four brothers, David Woodring, Junior Woodring, Darrrell Woodring and Stephen Woodring. Survivors include her loving husband, Earl Wayne “Red” Haga; sons Michael Wayne Haga of Charleston, SC, and Kevin Neil Haga and his wife Paula of Valrico, FL; sisters Norma Massaroni of Pleasant Garden, NC, Emma Arthur of Orlando, FL, Judith Taylor and her husband William of Matoaka, WV, Sharon Parson of Daytona, FL and Donna Cecil of Princeton, WV; brothers Curtis Woodring of Madera, CA, Stanley Woodring and his wife Debbie of Beckley, WV and Nathan Woodring and his wife Rita of Lashmeet, WV; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, loving in-laws and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 16, 2015 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Scott Sears officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Earl Wayne and Rosa Woodring Haga Scholarship Fund at Concord University c/o Concord University Foundation, P.O. Box 1405, Athens, WV 24712.
