MATOAKA – Ronald Blankenship, 79, of Matoaka, died Thursday, April 7, 2022. Born September 29, 1942 in Baisden, he was the son of the late Rohn Blankenship and Juanita Walford Blankenship. Mr. Blankenship worked for 10 years on a coal tipple at Arista. He studied his Bible constantly and always shared his faith with others. He loved his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Mark Blankenship; two grandchildren, Curtiss Dillon, II and Timothy Dillon; and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Hale Blankenship; three daughters, Rhonda Blizzard of Hiawatha, Chrissy Dillon and husband Curtiss of Rock and Mary McKinney and husband Marvin of Matoaka; several brothers and sisters; seven grandchildren, Jamie Dillon and wife Kayla, Devin Dillon and wife Laura, Mary Blevins fiancée of Curtiss Dillon, II, Patrick Blizzard and girlfriend, Kristen Shrader, Danielle Dunn and husband Andrew, Christopher McKinney and wife Daphne and Brandon McKinney; seven great grandchildren, Caidence, Kyrian, Curtiss III and Paisley Dillon and Angelina, Keegan and Sethe Dunn; and a little Blizzard on the way.
