PRINCETON – Paul Browning, 74, of Princeton, died Friday, March 1, 2019. Born February 17, 1945 at Widemouth, he was the son of the late William Roy Browning and Dorothy Tate Browning. Mr. Browning was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Panama Canal Zone. He was a retired master mechanic. He was of the Pentecostal faith. He enjoyed bluegrass music, politics and loved playing his guitar in church and for family. Paul was blessed with five grandchildren who were the joy of his life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sybil Browning; infant son, Paul Browning, Jr.; sister, Diana Browning; brothers, Curtis, Lloyd, Darrel, William Jr.; and father-in-law, George Shaw. Survivors include his wife, Michele Shaw Browning; three children, Christopher Browning and wife Vanessa of North Carolina, Eric Lester and wife Kelly of Princeton and Brittany Massaroni of Ohio; sisters, Trudy Cornish and husband Don of Florida, Ellen Reese and husband Dick of Princeton and Ann Browning Bennett of North Carolina; brothers, Walter Browning and wife Anita of Princeton and Fred Browning and wife Edna of Lashmeet; grandchildren, Dakota Akers, Megan Lester, Peyton Lester, Arianna Edwards and Kobe Edwards; mother-in-law, Betty Shaw of Princeton; sister-in-law, Sharon Lester; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Tommy Sadler officiating where military honors will be conducted by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 5, 2019 from 11:30 a.m. until service hour at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
