Patricia "Patty" Hancock

KEGLEY – Patricia “Patty” Hancock, 69, of Kegley, died Tuesday, March 8, 2022. Born October 21, 1952 in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Fred Bennett and Cora Jean Trail Bennett. Patty retired from Bluefield Regional Medical Center after 19 years of service. She attended Weyanoke Church of God. Patty enjoyed crocheting, flower gardening, painting and making homemade hard candy. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Russell Lee Hancock; and one brother, Gordon Bennett. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Sidney Hancock; three children, Scott Hancock and wife Cindy, Jason Hancock and Charles Hancock all of Kegley; siblings, Alice Bailey and husband Larry of Clarks Gap, Freddie Bennett and wife Diane of Clairmont, NC, Frankie Bennett and wife Lillie of Kegley and Rena Carter and husband Justin of Beckley; half-sisters, Linda Shrewsbury and Becky Shrewsbury; brother-in-law, Jimmie Hancock and wife Gaye of Beartown; sister-in-law, Debbie Greer and husband Charles of Kegley; three grandchildren, Cody, Grace and Chase Hancock; two great grandchildren, Alice and Xavier Hancock; special nephew and niece, Peyton and Abby; and many other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Margaret Holt officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 15, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until service hour at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
