PRINCETON – Matthew Jeremy Holt, 36, of Princeton, passed from this life on Saturday, October 26, 2019. Born November 25, 1982 in Princeton he was the son of Kenneth Adren Holt and Brenda Shrewsbury Holt. Mr. Holt attended Weyanoke Church of God. He was a 2001 graduate of Princeton High School where he excelled academically, musically and athletically. Basketball was his favorite. He loved his country and was a proud veteran of the Army National Guard and his Native American heritage. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jennifer Denise Holt; maternal grandfather, Verlie Shrewsbury and paternal grandparents, Henry and Margaret Holt. In addition to his parents he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Sallie Shrewsbury of Princeton; brothers, Ken Holt and wife, Marcie and their children, Haydn and Hailey all of Morgantown, WV and Joshua Holt and wife, Talena and their son Cassius of Man; Joshua’s former wife, Stacy Holt and their sons, Logan and Blake of Foster, KY; many loving aunts, uncles and cousins; the love of his life, his former wife, Alicia Tiller Holt; and his cat, Tigger Buddy. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Friday, November 1, 2019 at Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home with Pastor Margaret Holt officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where military honors will be conducted by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 31, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
