Mary Eva Lawrence

PRINCETON - On June 17, 2022, Mary Eva Lawrence, 81, of Princeton, peacefully entered into the presence of the Lord. She was the daughter of James and Thelma Pauley. A lifelong resident of West Virginia, Mary was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family, her church, and community. Mary was actively involved with Eastern Star. She was a member of Princeton Chapter #53, and previously Winolia Chapter #59, Mt. Hope. Mary held almost every office in Eastern Star and represented the OES in Hawaii, Alaska, Canada, and Italy. She served as Worthy Grand Matron of West Virginia in 2005 and was Grand Representative to the State of Mississippi. She was a member of Fairview Christian Community Church, Princeton. Previously, Mary belonged to Prosperity First Baptist where she used her theatrical creativity and artistic abilities in the choir, VBS, and Sunday School. Mary’s greatest love was her family. She was the loving wife of Robert Lawrence and a wonderful mother to her three daughters Deborah, Jennifer, and Julie. Mary was a special “Maw-maw” who spent hours on the floor playing with her beloved grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two precious grandchildren, Sydney and Zachary. Mary is survived by her husband of 22 years Robert Lawrence of Princeton; her three children, Deborah (Robbie) Dorsey, Jennifer (Clyde) Bryson and Julie DeChellis; step-son, Dwayne (Tammy) Lawrence; six grandchildren, Lindsay, Michael, Tyler, Kaitlyn, Barron, and Mason; three great-grandchildren, Talan, Maleigha, and Journei; five brothers and sisters, Betty Wren, Charlotte Harless, Dorothy Bobart, Jim Pauley and Danny Pauley; and many nieces and nephews. Please join us as we honor and celebrate her life. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Fairview Christian Community Church in Princeton with Rev. Larry Dyer and Rev. Blake Bivens officiating. Entombment will follow at the Resthaven Memorial Park Mausoleum in Princeton. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 22, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. at the Fairview Christian Community Church in Princeton and one hour prior to service on Thursday.
