    Kathleen "Kat" Millikin

    January 10, 1991 - September 3, 2020

BLUEFIELD - Kathleen “Kat” Millikin, an amazing mother and wife of Bluefield, West Virginia went to be with The Lord unexpectedly on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at the age of 29. Kat is survived by her wife, Chastity Millikin and their three children, Salena Millikin, Noah Walker and Isaac Walker; her father, Leonard David Millikin; her grandmother, Joanne Stalling; her sister, Miranda Millikin and husband Tristan Phillips; her brothers, Leonard David Millikin Jr., Cody Scott and Justin Tessier; her mother-in-law, Kimberly Sanders and her brother-in-law, Kristoffer Sanders. Kat was proceeded in death by her brother, J.R. Millikin and her father-in-law, Curtis Whitely. Kat was born in Orange Park, Florida on January 10, 1991. She attended school in Florida and Wisconsin. She went onto become a mother to Salena, which she professed to be the most amazing and important thing she could ever do. The love for her daughter and the love from her daughter was her admittedly most precious, special and important gift The Lord had given her. On August 7, 2019, she married Chastity and between the two of them, they shared an unimaginable love, friendship and marriage. They experienced true joy as they began to raise their three children together. Kat was an overcomer and survivor, a bright shining star in a dark world. She lived through many trials as she never quit loving and trusting The Lord Jesus Christ and professed to the Baptist faith. She was always the light of the room and center of attention because of her personality. Her beauty, rocking haircut, sharp outfits, and incredible dance moves commanded those in her presence to love life, have fun and enjoy their time together to the fullest. Kat was an outstanding athlete and her athletic abilities allowed her to be able to do anything and make it look easy; from playing her favorite sport, soccer, doing tricks on the trampoline and on her BMX bike, to throwing football and climbing a tree like a monkey. She was a top-notch artist and was proud of her daughter, Salena who also possesses this beautiful ability. Kat made a living in the past as a truck driver, a painter and found her passion to be in providing lawn care, for which she made sure the lawns looked as sharp as she kept herself. She was a devoted mother, wife, friend and neighbor. She loved the community she lived in and took great pride in restoring and caring for the home she purchased with her wife, Chastity to raise their three children in. It was not hard to please Kat, she found happiness in even the smallest things. However, some things she enjoyed most in life was eating fresh oysters with her daughter, and listening and dancing to music, especially country music; she was a very talented dancer. Kat was a Florida Gator fan, she loved watching races and was a Jeff Gordon fan, as well as bowling, fishing and playing video games-especially Minecraft with her children and wife. Kat found comfort in the tranquility of the West Virginia mountains, and she found fun and peace in the wonder and beauty in the ocean. Kat’s passion for animals was special, she was a cat enthusiast, for which she had many and cared for them as if they were royalty. Kat also loved dogs, she and Chastity had 2 dogs and 10 cats. Kat will be desperately missed by her children, wife, family, friends, neighbors and all who have met her. A funeral service is scheduled Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton. Pastor James Walsh and Jason Bowden will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 p.m. until the service hour. Arrangements by Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.bailey-kirk.com.
