MATOAKA – Jerry Shrader, 76, of Matoaka, died Saturday, June 20, 2020. Born April 15, 1944 in Alpoca, he was the son of the late Bernard and Nola McKinney Shrader. Mr. Shrader was an electrician with Ketchikan Fuel, then owned and operated Allied Mechanical/ASE until his retirement in 2006. He was an avid horseman and bred, raised and showed many horses at Hilltop Farm in Matoaka until his death. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Lanny Shrader; and granddaughter, Angel Koeller. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Nancy Shrader; daughters, Rhonda Fitzl and husband Dave of McHenry, IL, Connie Tranberg and fiancé Kevin of McCullum Lake, IL and Tina Shrader of Washington, DC; step-son, Tim Koeller and wife Jennifer of Princeton; grandchildren, Shayna and Tyler Fitzl and Cody, Rebecca and Tom Koeller; sisters, Linda Moore and husband Sam and Brenda Austin and husband Pete of Bluefield, VA; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2020 at the Shrader Family Cemetery (584 Hilltop Farm Rd., Matoaka, WV) with Rev. Norman Arrington officiating.
