BEESON – Hattie Ruth Combs, 84, of Beeson, died Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at home surrounded by her family. Born September 15, 1933 at Montcalm, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Beckner and Nora Perkins Beckner. Mrs. Combs was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed listening to gospel music. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. She was a very patient, kind hearted and loving mother and grandmother. Her gentleness and pure heart made her one of a kind. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Combs; two sisters, Helen Hedrick and Polly Brancscome; and three brothers, Robert Beckner, Wayne Beckner and “Buddy” Beckner. Survivors include seven children, Debra West and Walter of Beeson, Jack Combs of the home, Jerry Combs and Sheila of Beeson, Gary Combs and Patricia of Bluefield, Kathy Cordle and David of Pinoak, Mitchell Combs and Teresa of Princeton and Jennifer Walls and Michael of Beeson; one sister, Eloise O’Donnell and Lawrence of Montcalm; two brothers, Frankie Beckner and Janice of Wilmington, NC and beloved brother, Kenny Beckner of Princeton; 19 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and 4 great, great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Gene Pennington officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. The family will receive friends Saturday, August 18, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until service hour at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
