BECKLEY - In Loving Memory of Wesley Byron Wallace. Wesley Byron Wallace, a man of many talents and passions in life, passed away at his home in Beckley, WV, on Friday, November 1, 2024 at the age of 61. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, but spent most of his childhood and many years of his adult life in Lashmeet, West Virginia. He was known as a skilled carpenter and painter, shaping homes and hearts alike with an ease of making friends with anyone he met. He loved and was uniquely talented at building log homes—a skill he shared with others in and around Blue Ridge, GA, where he lived for several years. He also built and operated a thriving painting business in Greensboro, NC, where he lived from 1989 to 1996. Wesley had many interests and hobbies, enjoying learning about history and collecting pieces of the past. His love for antiquities was not only a hobby but also a bridge to stories from another time, which he often shared with friends and family. Many will cherish the unique gifts he gave to them. In his younger years, Wesley was a gifted baseball player, as well as a guitar player from a very young age with a love for good music. These are just a couple things that he shared with his younger brother and best friend, Jeffrey Wallace. In addition to playing baseball and the guitar, he also shared his skills and passion for hard work and the painting trade with his brother Jeffrey, who attributes his own successes in work and business to the many things Wesley taught him and that they did together in life. Wesley had a true gift for conversation, effortlessly connecting with people from all walks of life. He was a fun person to be around, and his sense of humor is something he will be remembered for. All who knew him will be able to share stories of something hilarious he said or did. Wesley, leaves behind a legacy of laughter and craftsmanship that will live on in every life he touched and every structure he built and painted. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Waymon Wallace; and his son, Jeremy Lee Wallace. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Janet Gaye Walker and Jasper Harold Walker of Lashmeet, WV; three brothers, Jeffrey Wallace and wife Heather Martin of Greensboro, NC, Justin Walker and wife Shara of Princeton, WV and Terry Stables and wife Katlyne of St. Petersburg, FL; one sister Stephanie Walker, of Port Charlotte, FL; and several nieces, nephews and cousins, who will forever cherish their many memories of him.
