Vera Honn

PRINCETON – Vera Graham Atwood Honn, 86, of Princeton, died Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Cassell’s Board and Care Home in Princeton. Born April 28, 1924 at Dott, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Edwards Graham and Rinda Florence Meadows Graham. Mrs. Honn was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Bluefield, Virginia and also attended Grace Presbyterian Church in Lashmeet. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends, engaging in conversation and playing close attention to detail. She had a green thumb and could make any plant or flower flourish under her care. She also loved to crochet and made many beautiful doilies and throws. She was proud of her large family and enjoyed cooking dinners for them. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Hampton Atwood; her second husband, Frank Honn; a son, Leslie Atwood; a granddaughter, Karen Atwood; two sisters, Lillian Shrewsbury and Frances Lombardo; and five brothers, Oliver Graham, James Graham, Jerry Graham, Terry Graham and Larry Graham. Survivors include four sons, Lawrence Atwood and his wife Evelyn of Beeson, Bill Atwood and companion Marsha of Matoaka, Keith Atwood and his wife Betty of Princeton and Rick Atwood and his wife Arlene of Lashmeet; three daughters, Roxie Hufford and her husband Hudson of Springfield, OH, Norma Beck and her husband Jim of Eubank, NY and Deborah Parnell of Waterford, MI; a step-daughter, Kathy Honn of California; two former daughters-in-law, Judy Atwood of Bluefield and Marquita Cahill of Princeton; three sisters, Irene Shrewsbury of Louisiana, Marcia Fear of California and Juanita Gray of Lashmeet; a sister-in-law, Nola Graham of Princeton; 24 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Elder Bill Hanks and Pastor Norman Mills officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
