Roland Chambers

KEGLEY- Roland M. Chambers, 81, of Kegley went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at the V. A. Medical Center in Beckley. Born April 5, 1930, in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late John Patrick Chambers, Sr. and Alfreda Morin Chambers Duchette. He was a military veteran, serving in the U. S. Coast Guard and as a corporal in the U. S. Army. He worked as a carpenter and was a member of Carpenter Union Local 101 in Baltimore. He was a member of Roger Street Community Church in Princeton. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Roland Monte Chambers, Jr; one brother, John Patrick Chambers, Jr.; two sisters, Pearl Chambers West and Laura Gagnan and one grandson, Jason Chambers. Survivors include his wife, Mary Eleanor Crews Chambers of the home; two daughters, Leslie Chambers of Las Vegas, NV and Carol Murray and husband, Douglas of Las Vegas, NV; three sons, James Patrick Chambers and wife Cindy of Baltimore, MD, Guy Chambers and wife Erin of Fairfield, PA and Brian Chambers and wife Kathy of McSherrytown, PA; four step-children, Rebecca Steier of Aberdeen, MD, Patricia Redden of Kegley, Alvin Redden, Jr. of Weston and Sandra Davila and husband Hector of Tracy, CA; 12 grandchildren, Jessica, Stacey, Amanda, Carla, Erin, Jay Paul, Seth, Tabitha, Joel, Dana, Helen and Brian, Jr.; 7 step-grandchildren, Mary Ann, Elizabeth, Michael, Regina, Benjamin, Christopher and Karina; 13 great grandchildren and 3 step-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family. A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Monday, February 20, 2012 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Gene Pennington officiating. The body has been cremated. Burial will follow at a later date at Keaton Cemetery in Pipestem. Friends may visit Monday, February 20 from 5-6 p.m. at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
