Pauline Blankenship

PRINCETON – Effie Pauline Breeden Blankenship, 91, of Princeton, went to be with our Heavenly Father on August 8, 2014. She passed peacefully at home with the loving support of her family by her side. Born April 11, 1923, in Dott, she was the daughter of the late John Breeden and Lacy Vaught Breeden French. Pauline as she was called was a homemaker that took extra pride in her home in Lashmeet for 66 years. She was a great mother, wife, grandmother, and sister. She dearly loved her family and dedicated her entire life to them. She never said no to anyone who was in need. This kind spirit will be sadly missed by all. She was a member of the Rich Creek Baptist Church in Spanishburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years James W. Blankenship in 2005; an infant daughter Shelby; one grandson, Michael Thompson; one son-in-law, Randy Thompson Sr.; six sisters, Lucille Perez, Lilah Fuller, Ruth Walker, Joann Collins, Dolores Rossi, Liz Oldfield; and a brother, James Breeden. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Carol Thompson of Princeton and Debbie and husband Harold Brewster of Bluefield; two sisters, Sylvia Huffman and Marcella Crotty; one sister-in-law Ada Breeden; four grandchildren, Randy Jr. and his wife Casey Thompson of Princeton, Kevin and his wife Lynn Thompson of Princeton, Kim and her husband Dr. Michael Roth of Wake Forest, NC and Missy Godfrey and her fiancé Chad Eddy of Raleigh, NC; seven great grandchildren, Blake, Brooke, and Levi Thompson of Sherrils Ford, NC, Taylor Thompson of Princeton, Emily Roth of Wake Forest, NC and Amaya and Caroline Thompson of Princeton; one granddaughter-in-law, Barbara Thompson of Murfreesboro, TN; along with several special nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 10, 2014 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Ralph Calfee officiating. A graveside service will be at 12:00 p.m. Monday, August 11, 2014 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends attending the service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 11:45 a.m. The family will receive friends Sunday, August 10, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. until service hour at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
