Patricia Wasmer

LAKE SHAWNEE – Patricia Ann Wasmer, 64, of Lake Shawnee, died Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born July 22, 1947 at Princeton, she was the daughter of the late Ross Lawson and Arweda Nicholson Lawson. Mrs. Wasmer was a lifetime member of the Lashmeet Church of God. She was an honor graduate of Bluefield State College with an Associate Degree in education and also attended a branch of WVU. She taught Head Start in Spencer and later in Lashmeet from 1992 until her retirement in 2009. She was affectionately known as "Miss. Pat." She loved the outdoors and working in her yard. She enjoyed planting flowers. She was very devoted to her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Janice Ernest. Survivors include her husband and longtime companion of 20 years, Tom Wasmer; two daughters, Tammy Surface and her husband Matthew of Newton, NC and Tammy Marie Harper of Clarksburg; three sons, Shannon Young and his wife Asia of Glenwood, Edward Thomas Wasmer, III and Ricky Wayne Wasmer and his wife Kim of Williamstown; two sisters, Brenda Ernest of Columbia, SC and Connie; two brothers, Kenneth Lawson and his wife Glenda of Lake Shawnee and Michael Walker of Matoaka; nine grandchildren, Brandon Williams and his wife Sarah, Justin Williams and his wife Bobbi, Brianna Young, Jacob Young, Britton, Corey, Shilan, Nicky and Beau; and four great-grandchildren, Jordan, Tyson, Landen and Claire. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Gary Raulerson officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at the Pickens Cemetery at Pickens in Randolph County. Friends and family attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Lewis Johnson, Craig Johnson, Kevin Lawson, Eric Lawson, David Lawson and John Apgar.
