Judy Remines

PRINCETON - Judy Remines, 82, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and wife passed away quickly and peacefully at the hospital on April 12, 2026. Born in Bluefield, Judy lived most of her life in Mercer County. Judy lived a life marked by working hard, selflessness, giving nature, and boundless love for her family. Her unwavering devotion and positivity, even through the most challenging times, served as the heart and backbone that held her family together. Throughout her life, Judy enjoyed the beach, Pipestem State Park, being around water, fishing, playing cards and watching her grandsons and sons play golf. Judy found joy in watching TV, going to the movies, shopping, nurturing and tending to her flowers, a passion that reflected the care and attention she gave to those around her. Her gentle spirit and loving nature left an indelible mark on all who knew and worked with her. Judy worked for several years and retired at age 73. Judy was employed by GTE as a telephone operator and a repair dispatcher; and Walmart in Bluefield, VA. Judy was educated in Bluefield and graduated from Bluefield High School. Judy was a believer and attended Midway Church of Christ growing up and Burke Memorial Baptist Church as a adult. She was baptized with her son by Gary Adkins. She is survived by her cherished son, Rodger of Princeton; grandsons, Trey and Jack of South Carolina; siblings, Sherry & Richard Buskill of Richlands, VA and David & Kathleen Jackson of Roanoke, VA and several nephews and nieces in Virginia and North Carolina; Mike & Heather of Myrtle Beach; cousins Stevie & Mary Beth & Sylvia; and many extended family members who will carry forward her legacy of love, strength, and kindness. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy & Evie Jackson; her husband, Jay Remines; her brother Randy & Wanda Jackson of Roanoke; and uncle Sylvester & Pauline Yost of Bluefield; and mother-in-law Flora which she had a special bond with and enjoyed doing things with. Judy’s life will be celebrated in a private service with family, officiated by Pastor Gary Adkins, and burial is planned in Princeton. No services at the funeral home. Judy’s life was a testament to love, resilience, and simplicity. Judy was the embodiment of love and gentleness. She exhibited that love in everything she did including her husband, her children, grandchildren, her flowers on the porch and in the yard, her care for the deer and birds in the yard. Her presence will be deeply missed, and will forever remain alive in the hearts of those she so lovingly cared for. Arrangements by Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
