Gloria Slone

MATOAKA – Gloria Slone, 78, of Matoaka, died Monday, October 26, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born February 16, 1937 at McComas, she was the daughter of the late Luther T. White and Zola White White. Mrs. Slone attended Rock Assembly of God. She enjoyed word and jigsaw puzzles. She dearly loved her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul B. Slone; an infant son, Bernard Dale; and three brothers, Leonard White, Willard White and James White. Survivors include five children, Danny Slone and wife Vivian of Lashmeet, Michael Slone and Linda of Cleveland, TN, Phyllis Billings and husband Wayne of Matoaka, Jimmie Slone and wife Debbie of Cleveland, TN and Paula King and husband Shawn of Cleveland, TN; six sisters, Betty Hart of Lashmeet, Patti Goins and husband Bob of Lashmeet, Idena Tucker of South Carolina, Elaine Watson and husband Bobby of Cleveland, TN, Lena White and husband Dave of Princeton and Beverly Kuhfuss and husband Al of Antioch, IL; seven brothers, Luther White, Jr. of Addison, IL, R.C. White and wife Lynn of Matoaka, Alvin White and wife Debbie of Matoaka, Stacey White of Lashmeet, Kenny White and fiancé Veda of Oakvale, Freddie White of Bluefield and Joe White and wife Penny of Cleveland, TN; eight grandchildren, Cassandra Lanter, Timothy Billings, Donna Slone, Samantha Hicks, Jordan Slone, Brandon Slone, Christopher King and Tiffany King; and five great-grandchildren, Breanna Turpin, Larry Billings, Dustin Billings, Tracy Billings and Abigail Billings. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 30, 2015 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Bennie Hodges officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Amedisys Hospice or the American Cancer Society. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 29, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
