Earl "Cookie" Noland Jr.

BLUEFIELD- Earl “Cookie” Noland, Jr, 72, formerly of Bluefield, WV, passed away peacefully at his home in northern Kentucky on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. He was born on October 16, 1953, in Bluefield, where he was raised and spent his life building a family, career, and legacy that will be remembered by all who knew and loved him. Earl was the son of the late Earl and Edna Joyce Bailey Noland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Glenn Noland. He is survived by his partner and love of his life, Sandy Holbrook; two children; Jamey Earl Noland (Julie) of Charleston, WV, and Amy Noland (Seth Westfall) of Burlington, KY; grandchildren who brought him tremendous joy and gave him countless memories to treasure, Kaylie Noland, Chase Noland, and Kailey Lay; and brother, Clayton Ray Noland. For most of his career, Earl worked in the bread business; first for Betsy Ross Bakery in Bluefield and later owned his own delivery route which he serviced throughout southern West Virginia. Later in life, he opened his own auto repair business, Cumberland’s Finest, in Bluefield, which he managed for nearly 20 years. His hard work, dedication, and independent spirit were qualities that defined him throughout his life. As a young man, Earl was an avid muscle car and motorcycle enthusiast who certainly knew how to keep the roads hot. He loved the power, sound, and freedom that came with fast cars and motorcycles; which reflected the adventurous spirit he carried throughout his life. Earl will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will live on in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he has passed from this life, the stories, laughter, love, and cherished moments shared with Cookie will remain a lasting part of his family’s memories. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Princeton.
