Deborah Cook

GREEN VALLEY – Deborah Diane "Debbie" Cook, 52, of Green Valley, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 4, 2011 in the cardiac care unit of Roanoke Memorial Hospital after fighting a courageous battle following an extended illness. Born June 13, 1959 in Bluefield, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Tabor and Ellen Fields Tabor. Mrs. Cook was of the Christian faith and attended Fairview Christian Community Church. She was a dedicated employee of Grant's Supermarket in Green Valley for 21 years where she made many friends. She enjoyed her flower garden and reading. She was a selfless, strong willed, caring person who was full of life and always put the needs of her loved ones above her own. She was very protective of her family who loved her and will miss her deeply. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Cecil Tabor; and a special niece, Stephanie Davis Miller. Debbie was the cherished mother of Heather Tabor Burton and her husband Nathan and Katherine Cook Kupner and her husband Timothy all of Bluefield; she was the adored grandmother of Skylar Tabor, Jesse Gross, Jordan Kupner, Ali Burton and Jayden Kupner all of Green Valley; she is also survived by three brothers, John Tabor and his wife Carol of Princeton, Tommy Tabor and his wife Terrie of Sandlick and Larry Tabor and his wife Bobbie of Green Valley; two sisters, Barbara Hicks and her husband Eric of Radford, VA and Linda Davis and her husband Eddie of Green Valley; a special niece, MacKenzie Tabor of Green Valley. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Larry Dyer officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Tabor, John Tabor, Tommy Tabor, Eddie Davis, Nathan Burton and Tim Kupner.
