Betty Price

PRINCETON - Betty Lou Kinsley Price, 87, of Princeton, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 20, 2022 at Princeton Health Care Center with her son and his wife by her side. Born February 19, 1934, at her family home in Beechwood, WV, she was the daughter of the late John Ray Kinsley and Bettie Mae Davis Kinsley. She had a beautiful singing voice and a passion for religious songs. If you were having a bad day, just let her sing to you and your day would change to a good day. Betty’s special claim to fame is her rendition of a song, written by Tracy Dartt and recorded by Lynda Randle, “God On the Mountain.” It was placed on Princeton Health Care’s Facebook page where she received over 1.5 million views during the Pandemic and she was also honored with a special phone call and interview from Linda Randle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Phil Price; and ten siblings, Albert, Beulah, Vernon, Roy, Harry, Earl, Hunter, Jim, Jack, and Dave. Those survivors left to cherish her memory include son, Randy “Scooter” Price and wife Alicia Carrico Price of Princeton; daughter, Cindy Stone of Tryon, NC; grandchildren, Christopher Stone and wife Caelie of Tryon, NC, Ashleigh Price and fiancée, Brian Buckland of Summerville, SC, Amanda Stone and partner Alex Bonetti of Summerville, SC and Emily Stone of Tryon, NC; great-grandchildren, Calirroe and Christopher Stone, Jr. both of Tryon, NC and Sofia Bonetti of Summerville, SC; two sisters, Faye Wynn of Frederick, MD and Edna Houck of Todd, NC. Betty always enjoyed being around family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Also, included as part of her family, is the loving and caring staff at Princeton Health Care Center. Special thank-you to Hospice Compassus for their care. She will be laid to rest in a private family service at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley, WV, beside her loving husband and family.
