It is our belief at Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home that no two funeral services should be the same, just as no two individuals are the same. We feel that a service should memorialize the individual and be an expression of the life that person lived. That is why we encourage family participation in arranging the service. Bringing in old photos, mementos and family treasures helps friends and family remember that person and reflect on their life. Almost all caskets, urns and burial vaults can be personalized to commemorate the life of the one being remembered.

THE TRADITIONAL FUNERAL SERVICE
Many families still prefer “traditional” funeral services. We can provide a traditional service in our chapel, in a church or other facility of your choice. The traditional service allows for meaningful participation by the living. Most traditional services include a time of visitation with the family on the evening prior to the funeral service or on the day of the service.

CONTEMPORARY OR NON-TRADITIONAL FUNERAL SERVICES
Not everyone wants a traditional funeral service. Some families have their own creative ideas on how they want to remember and memorialize their loved one. We will always help families personalize a service to suit their needs in remembering and honoring their loved one.

A GRAVESIDE SERVICE
If simplicity is your goal, we can provide a service at the graveside or in a mausoleum. Many families want to also have a time of visitation at the funeral home when choosing a graveside service.

THE DIRECT BURIAL
Some families elect not to have any formal services and opt for direct burial. In this case, the body is buried shortly after death without a viewing or visitation. Our services include transportation and care of the body. A memorial service may be held at the graveside or alternative location at a later date, if the family desires.

CREMATION
With the increase in popularity of cremation in the United States, we can provide services before cremation with the body present, as well as a memorial service after cremation. We offer numerous service options and a wide selection of urns from which to choose.

OUT OF TOWN ARRANGEMENTS
We can assist in the arrangement of transportation of your loved one to or from an out-of-town funeral home for services and burial.

ADVANCE FUNERAL PLANNING
Through our pre-arrangement program, individuals can relieve their families of the emotional and financial burden of making funeral arrangements at the time of need. By planning and funding in advance, pre-arranging protects against future inflation while ensuring that your wishes will be carried out as specified years later when needed.

VIDEO MEMORIAL TRIBUTES
Comprised of a collection of family photographs, these DVD tributes may be shared with friends and family during a visitation or funeral service. Additional copies are made available for those wanting an eternal keepsake of their loved one.

AFTERCARE
It has always been our belief that our service to the family does not end with the funeral. We maintain contact with you through our aftercare program to be assured that your family is on the road to recovery from the traumatic experience of losing a loved one. In addition, our grief resource library is always available to those wishing additional information on the grieving process.
