BLUEFIELD – Betty Owen Crawford, 76, of Green Valley, Bluefield, WV went home to be with her loved ones and the Lord on Sunday, June 12, 2011. Born December 17, 1934 in Bluefield, she was the daughter of the late A.B. “Clowny” and Josephine Serber Owen.
She was a graduate of Bluefield High School and McLains Business College. She was the owner and manager of O & C Mobile Home Park in Green Valley. She was a life-long resident of the Green Valley area and an outstanding citizen of the Bluefield, West Virginia area. She was a member of the Friendship Club and the Green Valley Women’s Club. She was also a member of the Church of Christ at Maple View, Bluefield, but more recently attended the First Church of God on Airport Road in Bluefield.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved lifetime partner, Ed Brooks and God-child, Jamie Bourne; and her beloved pet, Pooh.
Survivors include her aunt, Kathleen Lee of Green Valley; a special cousin, Dr. Jerry Lee of San Diego, CA and a number of other cousins; God-daughter, Roxanne Bourne of Bluewell; two God-sons, Mark Hale of Bluefield and Steve Munsey of Savannah, GA; life-long friends, Roger Williams of Bluefield, Ronnie and Lillie Mae Brooks of Princeton, Brownie Munsey of Green Valley and David Katz of Bluefield; and friends, Hobert Skeens and Susan Cable and all caregivers, including Melissa Bell and Andrea Williams.
There will be no services at the funeral home. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Monte Vista Park Cemetery in Green Valley with Pastor Tony Reed and Pastor Dana Hambrick officiating. Friends attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
