ROCK – Joeline Virginia Bailey Snider Phipps, 82, of Rock, died Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at her home following a lengthy illness.  Born Tuesday, January 22, 1929 at Hinton, she was the daughter of the late Pauline Virginia Bailey and Alfred Joel Bailey.  

 

Mrs. Phipps was the oldest of four children.  She was of the Protestant faith and believed in God and living life doing what made her happy.  She enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow and learn.  She loved playing cards, traveling and crocheting.  She retired from Leggett in 1989.   

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert A. Snider and Waldo A. Phipps; one sister, Mary Katherine Hudson Thomas; and one brother, Alfred Bailey.  

 

Left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Sharon Wright (Roger) of Hudson, KY and Pamela Sexton (Clarence) of Rock with whom she made her home; one son, Wayne Snider (Rita) of Rock; one brother, Joel Bailey (Virginia) of Fairborn, OH; seven grandchildren, Keith Wright (Lena), Teresa Cochran (Chuck), Robert Wright, David Sexton, Rebecca Buck (Andre), Rachael Lilly (Daniel)  and Tim Snider; 10 great-grandchildren, Dakota, Lauryn and Abby Wright, Hunter Sexton and Kayla, Destiny, Brent, Amy, Ryan and Claire Cochran; and several nieces and nephews.   

 

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2011 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Robert Walton officiating.  Interment will follow at the Wesley Chapel Cemetery at Rock.  

 

Serving as pallbearers will be Keith Wright, Robert Wright, Hunter Sexton, Tim Snider, Bill Bailey and Steve Bailey.  

 

Memorial contributions may be made to Children’s Home Society, 603 Harrison St., Princeton, WV 24740.
