BECKLEY – Alma Lois Vest, 81, of Beckley, formerly of Matoaka, died Thursday, February 17, 2011 in Beckley.  Born September 10, 1929 at Matoaka, she was the daughter of the late Walter B. Vest and Maude Hanks Vest.

 

Until the death of her mother, Alma lived her life by her mother’s side at Matoaka.  Afterward she continued her life as a resident of Beckley.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mae Uhler and Marie Loudermilk; four brothers, Marion Vest, Roy Vest, Amos Vest and Joe Vest; and a sister-in-law, Lillie L. Vest.

 

Survivors include one brother, Perry Vest and wife Pansy of Lashmeet; two sisters-in-law, Jeanette Vest of Matoaka and Louise Vest of Flatwoods, KY; a brother-in-law, Robert Loudermilk of Beckley; and several nieces and nephews.

 

 

 

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 21, 2011 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Larry Dyer officiating.  Interment will follow at Elgood Cemetery.  Family and friends will serve as pallbeaerers.

 

Friends may call Monday, February 21, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. until service hour at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.bailey-kirk.com.
