PRINCETON – Franklin D. Gillenwater, 79, formerly of Princeton Health Care Center, died Saturday, August 4, 2012 in Princeton. Born April 11, 1933 at McComas, he was the son of the late William Harve Gillenwater and Dora Mae Gills Gillenwater.

Mr. Gillenwater was retired from American Block Company and was a member of the New Covenant Pentecostal Church in Princeton. He loved animals.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Clarence Gillenwater, Samuel Gillenwater, Alvie Gillenwater, Harvey Gillenwater, Raymond Gillenwater and David Gillenwater; and four sisters, Corinne Hedger, Gertrude Ammerman, Thelma Gillenwater and Elvie Gillenwater.

Survivors include two brothers, Mack Gillenwater of Princeton and Joe Gillenwater of Greensboro, NC; and one sister, Pauline Rhodes of Oak Hill.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 6, 2012 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Fred Farley officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
