COVEL – Thelma Virginia Ratliff Belcher, 85, of Covel, died Friday, June 15, 2012 at Wyoming Nursing and Rehabilitation at New Richmond. Born August 3, 1926 at Floyd County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Lane Ratliff and Virgie Dunn Ratliff.

Mrs. Belcher was a homemaker, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Herndon Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Imogene Kirby Pettrey and Clytis E. Cocus; and two brothers, Samuel Ratliff and George Ratliff.

She leaves to cherish her life and memories, her husband of 70 years, Ova Watson Belcher of Garwood; one daughter, Louise Hypes of Garwood; two sons, Calvin R. Belcher and his wife Nina of Rock and Connie Dean Belcher and his wife Sandy of Reidsville, NC; one sister, Izetta Brookman of Michigan; five grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2012 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. William O. Tolliver officiating. Interment will follow at Monte Vista Park Cemetery at Green Valley.
