ROCK – Lacy Matthew Taylor, 80, of Rock, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at his home. Born February 11, 1932 at Weyanoke, he was the son of the late Andy Taylor and Dora Carpenter Taylor.
Mr. Taylor was of the Church of God faith. He retired from Floyd Asphalt Paving Co. in Bluefield, Virginia. He was a mechanic and liked to work on cars. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include one daughter, Angela Murray and her husband Chris of Bluefield; six sons, Lacy Ray Taylor and his wife Chris of Wytheville, VA, Rodney Matthew Reed and his wife Cheryl of Virginia Beach, VA, Jerry Lee Taylor of Princeton, Curtis Taylor and his companion Marie of Lake Bottom, Andy William Taylor and his wife Robin of Martinsville, VA and Ronald Eugene Taylor of Wytheville, VA; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with the Rev. Larry Dyer officiating. Friends and family attending the service are asked to meet at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton at 10:45 a.m.
