PRINCETON – Bessie J. Gartlan Bailey, 79, of Princeton, died Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at Bluefield, VA.  Born April 24, 1932 at Lamar, she was the daughter of the late Barney Gartlan and Bandy Mae Gadd Gartlan. 

Mrs. Bailey was a homemaker and was of the Methodist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis R. Bailey in 1998; and one brother, Robert Gartland.

Survivors include one sister, Connie Farmer of Princeton; two brothers, William Gartlan of Buford, SC and Donald Gartlan of Fort Worth, TX; and several nieces and nephews, including Gary Bailey and his wife Tammy of Princeton.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 8, 2011 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Myron Tilley and her nephew, Richard Gartlan officiating.  Entombment will follow at the Chapel of the Wildwood Mausoleum at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
