ROCK – Nina M. Basham, 70, of Rock, died Thursday, October 14, 2010 at her home. Born February 20, 1940 at Bluefield, she was the daughter of the late Royal Jennings Shrader and Pearl Grace Murrell Shrader. Mrs. Basham was a member of the Rock United Methodist Church for 42 years where she taught Sunday School for many years. Her voice touched many lives while she sang in the Solid Rock Quartet for 32 years. She loved to take care of her flowers and crochet. She enjoyed traveling with her family. She was the youngest daughter of 16 children. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers, Pete Shrader, Virgil Shrader, Arnold Shrader, Bud Shrader, Fred Shrader, Billy Shrader and Melvin Shrader; and two sisters, Geneva Sheppard and Betty Shrader. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Shirl Basham; one son, Randall Basham and his wife Tina of Rock; one daughter, Kathy Bailey and her husband Billy of Rock; three grandchildren, Shane Basham, Jordan Basham and Rhyan Bailey; four sisters, Garnet Basham, Aulberine Delp, Emma Jean Townley and Jenny Hambrick; two brothers, Larry Shrader and Cecil Shrader; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 18, 2010 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. David Damewood, Rev. Bill Crawford, Arnold Akers, Rev. David White and Rev. Oliver Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
